about me...
emma sophia rathe
actor, singer, artist
Hello! My name is Emma and I am from Waverly, Iowa. In a small farm town community, I grew up loving to perform. Whether it was singing in church, or acting at the community theatre-I loved every minute with support from my family. I grew up very close to family and friends, and loved all things outdoors even if I got sunburnt in the first five minutes! I may not have been in any sports in school, but I love water and snow skiing, wakeboarding, hiking, and exploring and traveling to new places.

After graduating high school in 2013, I moved to Springfield, Missouri to get a BFA in Musical Theatre at Missouri State University and graduated MSU in May of 2017.

I've kept busy during the summers by getting the Basic and Intermediate Stage Combat certification in Toronto, Canada through FDC at Rapier Wit; took a Shakespeare class in London through Florida State University; and performed at the Tent Theatre held on Missouri State's campus.
I then moved to Chicago performing in two one-woman cabarets I wrote. I also got to perform in Avenue Q as the Bad Idea Bear.

After taking a few Shakespeare and Chekhov classes in Chicago, I wanted more training so now I live in New York City and am an Acting MFA candidate at The New School.
